JUSTICE CONFERENCE ASIA 2019 - Love Thy Neighbour

What does it mean to love thy neighbour? When we thoughtfully examine the statement “love thy neighbour,” we are compelled to ask who is my neighbour? This question is often met with hostility and justifications, but if we are to truly follow the example of Jesus, we must confront the uncomfortable reality of loving all God’s Children - all made in the image of God.

The Justice Conference was birthed out of a simple idea and a compelling paradox – true life is found when we give our lives away on behalf of others. What if Christians truly lived out the message of Jesus and transformed their communities through their love and the practice of authentic justice?

During the conference you will hear from international justice voices and practitioners in Asia who will explore practically what it might look like to love our neighbours as radically as Jesus did. The conversation will flow from a theology of justice that calls followers of Christ into a more intentional lifestyle of ‘living justly’ as we seek to live out our faith and be disciples of Jesus.

In 2019, an expression of The Justice Conference will be run in Singapore, Melbourne, Auckland, São Paulo, Cape Town, London, Amsterdam, and Norway. In Asia, the conference will be held in Singapore for the first time in PMC!

Date : 18 - 19 October 2019
Venue : Pentecost Methodist Church

“All thanks and praise to God for the physical, emotional and spiritual healing TRAC Healing Ministry (THM) has witnessed; just this year, more than 70 persons have prayed to receive Christ, and after a healing service, our volunteer who compiled the reports commented, "There are so many physical and emotional improvements and healing". All glory to Yahweh Rapha!

Yearly, THM plans for a mission trip to bring God's healing to the nations. This year, doors have been opened for us to go to Israel. God willing, we would be walking the land where Jesus walked and doing what Jesus did – praying for the sick and drawing persons closer to God.

Date of trip: 3 (Tue) to 13 (Fri) December 2019
Email queries, if any, to Rev Ling Kin Yew at

What does family mean to us? How can our youths play a part in building up our families? How can we as parents also do likewise? In partnership with Famchamps from Focus on the Family, this year’s camp is based on the central theme of Family - understanding what God desires for families and nurturing our youths to have an important role in building up strong families.

As we encourage our youths to join us at camp to discover our Heavenly Father’s heart for families, you have a part to play too! Do keep 28 December (Sat) night free, and stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

Matthew has an evangelistic ministry that is often accompanied by divine healing. He used to be a Missions Pastor with Grace Assembly of God and would often be sent out to minister around Asia - ministering at healing services, gospel crusades and training up churches to move in the area of healing.

He has since started JHM Ministries (Jesus Heal Me) to be a blessing to the wider body of Christ. In addition to ministering at healing/evangelistic services locally and abroad, Matthew and his team have a unique passion to start healing ministries in local churches and empower existing healing teams to function as the evangelistic arm of the church.

Living out God's word in the real world

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

2018 PMC Bible Marathon.jpg

1.  How are the daily Bible readings organised?
We will be reading OT and NT books alternately.  The various biblical genres have been spread out
e.g. Gospels, Pauline Epistles, OT History and Prophets.
Pairing of OT-NT readings are done thematically where possible,
e.g. Genesis-John, Leviticus-Hebrews, Deuteronomy-Romans, Daniel-Revelation.

2.  What is the link between daily Bible readings and weekly sermons?
A total of 100 sermons will be preached in the 2 years, covering most of the Bible's 66 books.  The daily readings will be synchronised to the sermons;
e.g when we are reading Genesis/John, the Sunday sermon text will be taken from Genesis/John.
The aim is to provide a "deep and wide" appreciation of the Bible's message.

3.  Would there be resources provided to help us in this Marathon?  (Yes!)
a.  Daily Readings and Preachers' Journal in MyPMC App
b.  Reference materials on key historical events and people in the Bible
c.  Monthly short courses on how to read the different books of the Bible
d.  Fortnightly Live-It-Out guides and training classes for Life Groups

I want to join a Life Group!
